Just read the review written about Gators discriminating against lesbians. I can only respond with " You have to be kidding". I am a gay male that eats at the bar at least 4-5 times a week and usually for dinner 2 or 3 times. I eat there so much I have a sugar dispenser at the bar that has my name on it. The owner and all three mangers have bought me dinner on multiple occasions. I know almost every server by name and they all know me. They bend over backwords to make my dining experience pleasurable. To the woman that wrote the review I am going to print my email address here so you can contact me. I was at the bar the night of your first visit with your group. As you did not all leave at the same time I would like to share some of the antics of your sisters that happened aftr you must have left. I only say this because you say you were not disruptive. While everyone may have been on their best behavior while the whole group was there it did not remain that way. Email me for more info!
Randyy1003@aolAlso I think it's within the restaurants right to say "NO" to American Idol. They are a sports bar and restaurant. If they changed the tv for you then the next request would be for HGTV (my fav, LOL) but you get my point. I hope.Please reconsider your attitude about Gators. I can tell you that there has been one occasion where the manager you are talking about had a bar customer Trespassed (banned by police from returning)because of anti-gay comments he made about me after I left.Thanks to all the staff at Gators Dockside for three + great years of service and friendship!Randy Young |

I visit Gators quite frequently.It is always a great experiance.My favorite meal is grilled scooter wings.Ive been reading some of these recent reviews and wow some of them seem a little personal man I just go there to eat I could not imagine going out with my freinds to critique the operations of a sports bar.Must have to much time and nothing better to do |

the food and service are good. What was bad was the discrimination by the manager two months in a row!! Last month 19 gay ladies, yesterday 26 ate dinner and had a few drinks for 2 hours each time. We are not disruptive, go on an "off" night of the week. Average bill $15 a head almost $400 in revenue, however the manager has twice been rude to all of us. blond, thirties, 5'8, average male. Both times surrounded by his all female staff hanging out at the ledge in front of the bar. Last month the server became a little weeded. I went to him to let him know she may need help. He told me she did not it was her station, she can maintain !!! While other servers stood around. She did well with what she had to work with.
Last night our server Candice was awesome, very efficient.
We asked if we could have American Idol turned on. Once again the manager did not come over. He sent here back to tell us it was a sports bar. He would not put it on. Candice has very apologetic and clearly embarresed. I asked to speak to him. HE REFUSED to come to the table. He sent her back to tell us that he would put it on a small tv clear accross the bar. He did and no one could see it.
He just stood at the ledge playing with his staff. It was more then clear his digust with us. 2008 I would think that this would not happen. Especially, when you are talking about a nice group of gals, patient, fun, not loud.
Another thing there where two other tables in the lounge both of which clearly where not watching tv,.
The
'gay" community has money. none of which you will every see again. Froggers, Tijiuana Flats love us. Guess they are with the times.
I will tell you I will post this in as many places as possible until this man is gone.

We have eaten several times at Gator's Dockside in Eustis and been very happy with the food and the service. On January 20, we took our out-of-town family there because we have always enjoy your resturant. My turkey/bacon wrap had no bacon or sauce and was so salty I ended up throwing it away. Chuck didnot get what he ordered and when they did bring out the correct order the hamburger was very dry and tough. The other meals were either ok or our family did not want to complain. It will be a long time before we try Gator's again. |

This is our second time there.
Tonight the food was very salty and the last time we were there it was not. Just thought you should know. Maybe someone made a mistake with the salt shaker. The soup was salty also.
